We are looking for a planner who is ready to support a very busy department.
This could take you to the next step in the advancement of their career. As a statutory Planner, you are part of our team of seven statutory planners who have the important role of assessing permit applications within our unique and picturesque and country municipality with easy access by freeway. You will also be part of a team who constantly monitors and reviews its policies relating to the sustainable land use and management of the significant assets of the Macedon Ranges, as well as working with the community to develop and implement policies.

The successful candidate must be able to deal with a variety of challenging situations and enjoy customer service. The role provides specialist advice to Council, Management, the Strategic Planner and the broader council community on the impacts of development proposals and other council policies.

The position requires an understanding of the State and Commonwealth legislation applicable to this role as well as tertiary qualifications in the planning related field. The successful candidate will need a demonstrated an ability to assess technical information, whilst being able to relate this information to clients in the plain language. Excellent work place organisation and communication skills are required to succeed in these roles.
