This leading Engineering / Contracting Group located in the inner city suburbs of Melbourne can assist and mentor you in the permanent role of Project Accountant. Reporting to the group CFO you will have support of an experienced team and will have a central role in driving improved financial results across the business. As you develop in this role, you will confidently liaise with the project staff and the finance team in delivering outstanding project financial reporting and controls. This is an ideal first step from the profession, into a focused and dynamic environment. As a CA/CPA qualified Accountant, you will have an ability to manage a broad range of accounting, analytical and administrative tasks, form strong and effective working relationships and have a good grasp of operational aspects of the business. These skills, combined with your determination to produce work to a high standard, will enable you to positively impact the financial performance of the group. Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:- - Project budgeting, reporting and forecasting
- Preparation of progress claims and invoices
- Debt Collections (approx half a day per week)
- Misc administration associated with jobs e.g. accounting system administration and bank guarantees management
- Assisting with the development of internal systems and processes
- Promotion of and compliance with company policies and procedures
To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in the following: - Minimum of 3 years finance related experience post university graduation (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills: ability to convey information clearly
- Strong work ethic including willingness to perform a range of tasks
