T-sql DEVELOPER (C7)

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced SQL DEVELOPER for a contract role based in their offices in Canberra. The contract is for an immediate start for an initial term of 3 months, with possible extension option.

SQL DEVELOPER:
Background
The clients Datawarehouse contains information from a corporate application and other data sources which are used via COGNOS to create corporate management reporting solutions. An SQL developer will gain valuable exposure to COGNOS while working in this space using your T-SQL skills.

REQUIRED:

  • No less than 3 years of demonstrated SQL programming experience either in private industry or the commonwealth sector
  • Experience with a commercially recognised RDBMS, preferably SQL Server 2005
  • Ability to produce deliverables as specified below:
    Develop and document technical specifications
    Develop SQL program code for data extracts (using Microsoft Transact SQL and SSIS) in accordance with approved business specification and SCP development standards, for BI reports and ad hoc information requests  
    Perform unit and systems testing as required
    Document and correct defects
    Implement approved change requests
    Report progress to the team leader
  • Provide advice and assistance as required in support of business and technical staff in the specification, design, construction and testing activities of the Business Information technology team.
  • Transfer all knowledge gained in all avenues of the development process to both permanent and contractor members of the team in a timely manner and on a regular basis.
