Provide leadership within the Engineering group of Newcastle office to assist in the technical and commercial growth of the business. With focus on the Mining Industry, lead project teams and business development initiatives and mentor / guide fellow staff.
Engage relevant professional and industry bodies and actively promote the workgroup as a ‘Centre of Excellence’. The person will have superior technical skills being a recognised expert in the field.
The Associate Water Engineer will be responsible for the successful direction and delivery of a broad range of projects undertaken by the Engineering group, which include:
- Water management – mining, industry, government, water authorities, and urban;
- Mining – feasibility studies, tailings systems, water dams, stream diversions, water supply, operational reviews and closure strategies;
- Flooding assessments – modelling, mapping, mitigation design, and risk assessment;
- Water resources – hydrology, water balance, water supply feasibility, and water reuse;
- Water quality – policy, modelling, assessment, pollution control strategies and design;
- Rehabilitation – waterways, floodplains, catchments, wetlands, mines, industrial sites, and landfills.
- Civil design and construction – major dams, stream diversions, stormwater drainage and passive treatment systems, hydraulic structures, erosion control works, rehabilitation, and water supply systems.
