A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Team Leader for a developing Hydrogeology team based in Sydney. The current team is made up of consultants across a variety of levels working on a purely technical focus and my client is seeking a business minded Hydrogeologist to join the team and compliment the existing technical skills. My client is looking to focus their resources on developing the environmental team over the next 2 years, making this the ideal time to join the organisation, and allowing you to become part of this success. The team currently works predominantly on water resources focused projects addressing both water quality and quantity issues but additionally experience in contaminant hydrogeology will be of interest to develop an additional area of business. There are a number of key clients working with the team on major infrastructure projects, focusing on reducing the impact of such projects on the surrounding groundwater. Due to the existing base of clients there are already contacts that can be utilised within the business but the Team Leader will be expected to bring with them a network of contacts that will benefit the team and business. Although the successful applicant will be involved in providing direction for ongoing project work the main focus of the position will be to actively grow and develop the business, whilst mentoring junior consultants within the team, in order to develop the business into a leader within the Hydrogeology sector. This will involve working on national and international projects, both with a pure hydrogeology focus and working with other areas of the business on a multidisciplinary basis across major infrastructure projects. Applicants will not be expected to conduct much field work but around 5 years experience working in the field will be required in order to assist field based consultants and ensure that field reports are effectively reviewed. Additionally although simulation modelling will not be a focus of the position exposure to this aspect of hydrogeology will be highly regarded. In order to be considered for this position applicants must hold 10 years plus working within the environmental consultancy sector, ideally within NSW, hold experience of team management and business development, and have the ability to bring with them new contacts and potential business. This will be rewarded with a competitive salary package commensurate to your skills and experience and the ability to rapidly develop your career.
