An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer to work for a municipality located north of Melbourne. This newly created role is pivotal to the success of the department as you will bring experience, enthusiasm and dedication to the role.    

Employed as a Planning Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking inspections and investigations, including conducting fieldwork, to ensure land use and development approvals comply with Planning Legislation and the local Planning Scheme.  You will also be responsible for gathering evidence, writing reports and representing council at VCAT if and when necessary. 

As the ideal candidate you will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Planning and/or Building Law, or relevant experience/qualifications
• Circa 4 - 6 years experience as a Planning Enforcement Officer
• Demonstrated experience enforcing legislation associated with Planning & Building
• Excellent customer service and presentation skills
• Proficient in writing technical site reports with recommendations.
