Junior Perl Programmer

As a Junior Perl Programmer you will be involved with developing communication solutions that analyse and transform client data to produce output to various communication channels, including print, email, fax, SMS and online document management systems.

The delivery of the communications solutions must be met within strict deadlines, all work that is scheduled needs to be completed on time.  Due to the nature of the work, a high level of accuracy must be maintained at all times as errors can have significant financial implications.
Along with the programming activities, programmers are also required to take part in work estimation, Quality Assurance and client issue investigations.
 
To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Exceptional communication skills - including verbal, written and listening
  • Attention to detail - quality output is paramount
  • Capable of working on multiple projects at once - well organised.
  • Strong programming skills and understanding of program structure
 Preferred skills:
  • Perl/C/C++/Java experience
  • Client and solution focused
KNOWLEDGE:
 To be successful you will have a good understanding of systems and Integration, as well as Software Development Life cycles.

  • Billing (ie utilities, telecoms,)
  • Direct Marketing
  • Finance
It is essential that you have commercial experience in an IT programming role.
