They are seeking an Interaction Designer to join their team responsible for development of the HMI for the company's worldwide flagship automation systems. Your role is to apply your human factors, design and software skills to help continually improve their human computer interaction design. Key areas of responsibility include: - Conducting user needs analysis;
- Translating requirements into successful user interface designs;
- Designing innovative user interfaces based on user research and design standards
- Building low fidelity and functional user interface prototypes;
- Developing user interface design specifications and assisting in the development of design guidelines and standards;
- Expert-reviewing graphical user interfaces and UI specifications
- Participating in the product usability testing process by collaborating on test plans, attending test sessions, and developing design solutions.
- Working closely with the software development team to deliver product releases to meet functional, quality and schedule goals
Qualifications - Bachelor of engineering, computer science or equivalent
Required Skills - Best practice understanding and experience with HTML and CSS
- A solid understanding of user-centred design principles
- Familiar with usability engineering and research methodologies
- Excellent analytical and conceptual design skills
- Ability to develop innovative approaches for complex design problems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to successfully plan and organise your own work
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- High level of initiative
Highly Desirable Skills - Web design skills for developing interactive prototypes
- Experience using XAML to design Silverlight and/or WPF applications.
