GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Analyst

Our key client who is a leading provider of digital mapping data solutions for customers around the world is currently seeking an enthusiastic GIS Analyst with minimum 2-3 year's experience in GIS.
 
As a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Analyst  you will learn processes and develop proficiency in data collection, interpretation and GIS application. This is an entry level role and is open to recent University graduates.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Collect locally based research materials, order source/reference material and conduct evaluation of source materials
  • Create planning maps for current and future database projects
  • Perform field data collection using prescribed technology, methodology and specifications
  • Process Database Update Requests
  • Perform Points of Interest data collection
  • Perform established procedures for in-line quality assurance
  • Implement current update methodologies
  • Conduct release processes to support prescribed requirements
  • Conduct systematic route testing of completed database(s)
 
Skills/Experience:
 
  • Bachelor level degree in a related field (e.g., sciences, geography, planning, business, geology, earth science, environmental studies) or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 year's experience in GIS experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel without restriction within Australia and Internationally
  • Must have fluent verbal and written English language skills 
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
 
This role is located in a convenient city fringe location in Wellington, New Zealand. This is also a very challenging opportunity for anyone looking to advance their skills within the GIS arena and is providing the incumbent with loads of training on the job as well.
