This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional to join this major Australian company involved in the mining and mineral processing industries. This organisation values and respects their employees, and you will work with management to review and maintain systems and procedures to ensure the ongoing safety at a number of their sites.
Your role is to influence, advise and support the business units in relation to compliance with relevant Australian legislation, hazard identification, incident investigation, safety compliance education, and safety audits. Frequent travel will be an integral part of the role, calling on offices and sites in the region.
You will review the company's methods of operation and special areas of expertise to gain a full understanding of their procedures. You will assist in risk identification, assessment and control, reviewing procedures to comply with the company's OH&S systems.
To be successful, you need:
* Tertiary qualifications in OH&S Management
* Lead Assessor qualifications
* Minimum of 8 years experience with safety and environmental issues in the oil and gas industry
* Proven Risk Assessment experience
* Excellent leadership and coaching skills
* Experience in workplace training and assessing
* Strong knowledge of relevant Australian legislation
* Good time management and organisation skills
